In the heart of Shreveport, Louisiana, Zachary Johnson embarked on a journey propelled by boundless curiosity and an unwavering dreamer's spirit. His multifaceted pursuits, ranging from sports, games, and outdoor activities to music, showcased a diverse array of talents and underscored his ambitious, challenge-ready mindset.

 

A transformative moment unfolded within the walls of his great-grandmother's house, where Zachary discovered his first piano—an instrument that ignited his passion for the dream world and the vast realms of imagination. This piano became the canvas for his spontaneous compositions, spotlighting his innate musical talent and creativity.

 

At the age of 12, as a 6th-grade band member mastering the alto saxophone, Zachary's musical journey took a profound turn. Driven by a desire to express his emotions, he composed his first piano Sonata, unveiling a natural gift for composition. Performing the piece without formal lessons, he moved his audience to tears, recognizing the emotional power within his music. Formal training ensued, leading to victories in prestigious competitions like "Artbreak" and various honor bands.

 

Transitioning into high school, Zachary delved into orchestrating music independently, navigating the nuances through orchestration books and persistent trial and error. His collegiate journey commenced at Northwestern State University, majoring in Music Education. There, he founded the "Varnado Band" and presented his compositions in a captivating live music show.

 

The world of film scoring beckoned during his sophomore year, with "The Feeling Within" serving as his inaugural score. Zachary's transfer to Louisiana State University to major in Music Composition marked a period of significant growth. As a member of the "Golden Band from Tiger Land," he composed for short films like "The Great Gate" and reveled in the football team's national championship victory in 2019.

 

In 2021, Zachary celebrated his graduation from Louisiana State University, marking a pivotal juncture in his musical journey. Embarking on a fresh chapter at New York University (NYU), he pursued a major in Music Theory & Composition with a concentration in Film Scoring. Collaborating seamlessly with directors, producers, and animators, Zachary expertly married his scores to films, tirelessly working to spread diversity and create enduring pieces of art.

 

As his journey unfolds, the sky remains the limit for this visionary composer. In 2023, Zachary earned his Master's degree from New York University, further solidifying his esteemed place in the world of music composition.
